Working as a Pianist in Berkshire
My name is Eugene Portman and I visit Berkshire on a regular basis as a pianist. I live near the county and I am familiar with many of its hotels, pubs and restaurants. These venues are the perfect choice for couples wishing to get away from London to wed in more rural surroundings. I always think that pianists in Berkshire are lucky to such and an amazing choice of places to play on their doorstep.
Me as a Wedding Pianist
As you’ve probably noticed, this website is mostly about my work as a sing-along/pub pianist, but I do much more than that. I am often booked in the Berkshire area as a wedding pianist and this means that I have to be versatile. Playing the piano for weddings often involves me having to play different genres of music for the various parts of the wedding day. The genres I play include pop, rock, Latin, classical, blues, and singalong.
If you are particularly interested in my work as a sing-along pianist then just explore the links on this website. Otherwise, visit my other sites on www.ukweddingpianist.co.uk and www.eugeneportman.com. Both these sites will give you loads more information about other styles of music and my work as a wedding and events pianist.
The Baby Grand Piano Shell
I’ve already mentioned a lot of my work in the Berkshire area is as a wedding pianist. The problem is that most venues don’t have a suitable instrument for a pianist to play, so a digital piano is the only alternative. Digital pianos sound wonderful, but most people prefer the appearance of a normal acoustic piano. I have the answer with my baby grand piano shell. This looks like a grand piano, yet it discretely houses a digital piano.
The grand piano shell costs an additional £80 on top of my normal fee and can be set up anywhere.
I perform regularly as a pianist in Berkshire’s principal towns. Here are just a few:
- West Berkshire
- Cold Ash
