Working as a Pianist in Kent
My name is Eugene Portman and I visit Kent regularly as a pianist. The area is very rural, but it does have some major urban areas. The main cities and towns I’ve visited include Maidstone, Ashford, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury and Dover. This mixture of urban areas and rural countryside is the reason that there is a diverse range of venues. There are indeed many venues in Kent and I’ve played the piano at many of them.
Me as a Wedding Pianist
This website is dedicated to my work as a sing-along pianist and Kent provides me with plenty of this type of work. However, I play many more styles of music than just sing-along. I play the piano for many weddings in Kent and this means that I have to be versatile. I am often required to play different styles of music for each part of the wedding day. For instance, classical music is often the preferred choice for ceremonies , while jazz is very popular for drinks receptions. The styles of music I play include Latin, pop, rock, classical, blues and singalong.

The Grand Piano Shell
As I’ve already said, a lot of my work in Kent is as a wedding pianist. For weddings and other events I can offer a grand piano shell. This looks like a grand piano and discretely houses a digital piano. This is ideal when a normal digital piano just wouldn’t look right. The grand piano shell costs and extra £80 on top of my fee and I can set it up anywhere.
